About Stress And Anxiety:

We often refer to stress in our lives, for example: “I’m under a lot of stress at the moment”, “My job is really stressful” and things like that.

What we mean is that we are reacting to things around us in a way that we are causing a stress reaction in our body. Because all our experiences are different, all our assessments of our environment will be different. That’s why some people find a particular task stressful and others don’t.

Anxiety is the description of something going on that is making us have an unpleasant physical reaction like a tight feeling in the chest or a knot in the stomach.

These are both positive processes when they occur in a life threatening situation, where your body is preparing for what is commonly known as fight or flight.

Stress and anxiety cause a release of stress hormones like adrenalin and cortisol in to our bodies which have the effect of revving up the body for extreme exercise. Where the exercise doesn’t occur to use the chemicals up they can have a lot of negative effects on us like fatigue, poor sleep, poor mood control.
